Day 32: Journey Through The Bible in Two Months – Psalms Chapter 143 – Proverbs Chapter 12

Yesterday, we crossed the half way point in our journey through the Bible in two months. This is a personal spiritual development effort and it is a great spiritual investment any Christian can make in their Christian journey. I have set the target of reading through the Bible three times this year and this first effort would round up this month by April 30th 2012.

If you are just reading this you can join in our walk with God through the Bible from Today 1st April 2012. If you read three chapters per day and you read five chapters every Sunday, you will read the Bible through in one year. Our target is higher than that, we are reading an average of 20 chapters daily. To appreciate why we embarked on this journey, read Dr. Olukoya’s treatise on The Blessings of Bible Reading at: The Power of The Holy Bible

Psalm 143:2: “And enter not into judgment with thy servant: for in thy sight shall no man living be justified.”

Psalm 144:1,5-6,11-15: “Blessed be the LORD my strength, which teacheth my hands to war, and my fingers to fight:…Bow thy heavens, O LORD, and come down: touch the mountains, and they shall smoke. Cast forth lightning, and scatter them: shoot out thine arrows, and destroy them. Rid me, and deliver me from the hand of strange children, whose mouth speaketh vanity, and their right hand is a right hand of falsehood: That our sons may be as plants grown up in their youth; that our daughters may be as corner stones, polished after the similitude of a palace: That our garners may be full, affording all manner of store: that our sheep may bring forth thousands and ten thousands in our streets: That our oxen may be strong to labour; that there be no breaking in, nor going out; that there be no complaining in our streets. Happy is that people, that is in such a case: yea, happy is that people, whose God is the LORD”

Psalm 145:20: “The LORD preserveth all them that love him: but all the wicked will he destroy.”

Psalm 147:10-12: “He delighteth not in the strength of the horse: he taketh not pleasure in the legs of a man. The LORD taketh pleasure in them that fear him, in those that hope in his mercy. Praise the LORD, O Jerusalem; praise thy God, O Zion.”

Psalm 149:6-9: “Let the high praises of God be in their mouth, and a twoedged sword in their hand; To execute vengeance upon the heathen, and punishments upon the people; To bind their kings with chains, and their nobles with fetters of iron; To execute upon them the judgment written: this honour have all his saints. Praise ye the LORD.”

Proverbs 1:7,10,32-33: “The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction… My son, if sinners entice thee, consent thou not… For the turning away of the simple shall slay them, and the prosperity of fools shall destroy them. But whoso hearkeneth unto me shall dwell safely, and shall be quiet from fear of evil.”

Proverbs 2:3-5: “Yea, if thou criest after knowledge, and liftest up thy voice for understanding; If thou seekest her as silver, and searchest for her as for hid treasures; Then shalt thou understand the fear of the LORD, and find the knowledge of God.”

Proverbs 3:27-28: “Withhold not good from them to whom it is due, when it is in the power of thine hand to do it. Say not unto thy neighbour, Go, and come again, and to morrow I will give; when thou hast it by thee.”

Proverbs 4:7-9,23: “Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding. Exalt her, and she shall promote thee: she shall bring thee to honour, when thou dost embrace her. She shall give to thine head an ornament of grace: a crown of glory shall she deliver to thee… Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.”

Proverbs 6:9-11,26-29,32-33: “How long wilt thou sleep, O sluggard? when wilt thou arise out of thy sleep? Yet a little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to sleep: So shall thy poverty come as one that travelleth, and thy want as an armed man… For by means of a whorish woman a man is brought to a piece of bread: and the adulteress will hunt for the precious life. Can a man take fire in his bosom, and his clothes not be burned? Can one go upon hot coals, and his feet not be burned? So he that goeth in to his neighbour’s wife; whosoever toucheth her shall not be innocent… But whoso committeth adultery with a woman lacketh understanding: he that doeth it destroyeth his own soul. A wound and dishonour shall he get; and his reproach shall not be wiped away.”
