For the kingdom of heaven is like unto a man that is a householder, who went out early in the morning to hire laborers for his vineyard.
And when he had agreed with the laborers for a penny a day, he sent them into his vineyard.
And he went out about the third hour, and saw others standing idle in the marketplace,
And said unto them; Go you also into the vineyard, and whatsoever is right I will give you. And they went their way.
Again he went out about the sixth and ninth hour, and did likewise.
And about the eleventh hour he went out, and found others standing idle, and said unto them, Why stand you here all the day idle?
They said unto him, Because no man has hired us. He said unto them, Go you also into the vineyard; and whatsoever is right, that shall you receive.
So when evening came, the lord of the vineyard said unto his steward, Call the laborers, and give them their hire, beginning from the last unto the first.
And when they came that were hired about the eleventh hour, they received every man a penny.
But when the first came, they supposed that they should have received more; and they likewise received every man a penny.
And when they had received it, they murmured against the owner of the house,
Saying, These last have worked but one hour, and you have made them equal unto us, who have borne the burden and heat of the day.
But he answered one of them, and said, Friend, I do you no wrong: did not you agree with me for a penny?
Take what is yours, and go your way: I will give unto this last, even as unto you.
Is it not lawful for me to do what I will with my own? Is your eye evil, because I am good?
So the last shall be first, and the first last: for many are called, but few chosen.
I have always said that the above scripture is for those I called “LATE-COMERS”, why should people recruited at the last hour of a full working day be the first to be paid and paid 12times more than what they should naturally earn for one-hour labour?. I was one of the super late-comers in my youth, I spent 9-years in the university before I could obtain a degree, but I came out as the best graduating student in my Discipline (a case of Mr. Last being Mr. First).
The Lord raised a profound question in verse 6 that challenges stagnation to the roots saying: “… Why stand you here all the day idle?” That means, in the agenda of heaven, stagnation is a forbidden item on the divine list. When you judge Verse 16 in the natural, it sounds ‘crazy’ and ‘irrational’ but as far as Heaven is concerned it is an uncommon verdict for promotion… bringing the last man or woman on the queue of blessing to the first in line as recipient! God’s ways are past finding out.
One of the most scary Goliath of our present day is the Goliath of youth unemployment there is no better way to stagnate a person that to render them idle in the midst of activities of the market-square of life.
I noticed that the 3-hour cycle of visitation was broken, the pattern that would have excluded the chosen of the Lord from blessings. After the 9th hour, the 12th hour closing time would have been the next visitation, the Lord broke that pattern by suddenly and unexpectedly appearing at the 11th hour. At this point I pray concerning every one reading this message that every where your matter is about to be closed, the angel of the 11th hour shall be assigned by the Lord to open your case for uncommon favour and promotion in Jesus’ name. Shout this prayer with conviction in your heart: O God of the 11th hour, break the evil pattern of stagnation and appear suddenly in my situation, in the name of Jesus.
