The Battle Of The Gate (Part 2)

prayer 2010Jeremiah 51:20-21, 24: “Thou art my battle axe and weapons of war: for with thee will I break in pieces the nations, and with thee will I destroy kingdoms; And with you will I break in pieces the horse and his rider; and with you will I break in pieces the chariot and his rider;… And I will render to Babylon and to all the inhabitants of Chaldea all their evil that they have done in Zion in your sight, said the LORD”

Psalm 24:3-10: “Who shall ascend into the hill of the LORD? or who shall stand in his holy place? He that hath clean hands, and a pure heart; who hath not lifted up his soul unto vanity, nor sworn deceitfully. He shall receive the blessing from the LORD, and righteousness from the God of his salvation. This is the generation of them that seek him, that seek thy face, O Jacob. Lift up your heads, O ye gates; and be ye lift up, ye everlasting doors; and the King of glory shall come in. Who is this King of glory? The LORD strong and mighty, the LORD mighty in battle. Lift up your heads, O ye gates; even lift them up, ye everlasting doors; and the King of glory shall come in. Who is this King of glory? The LORD of hosts, he is the King of glory.”

Isaiah 64:1-:“Oh that thou wouldest rend the heavens, that thou wouldest come down, that the mountains might flow down at thy presence, As when the melting fire burneth, the fire causeth the waters to boil, to make thy name known to thine adversaries, that the nations may tremble at thy presence! When thou didst terrible things which we looked not for, thou camest down, the mountains flowed down at thy presence. For since the beginning of the world men have not heard, nor perceived by the ear, neither hath the eye seen, O God, beside thee, what he hath prepared for him that waiteth for him. Thou meetest him that rejoiceth and worketh righteousness, those that remember thee in thy ways: behold, thou art wroth; for we have sinned: in those is continuance, and we shall be saved. But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away. And there is none that calleth upon thy name, that stirreth up himself to take hold of thee: for thou hast hid thy face from us, and hast consumed us, because of our iniquities. But now, O LORD, thou art our father; we are the clay, and thou our potter; and we all are the work of thy hand. Be not wroth very sore, O LORD, neither remember iniquity for ever: behold, see, we beseech thee, we are all thy people. Thy holy cities are a wilderness, Zion is a wilderness, Jerusalem a desolation. Our holy and our beautiful house, where our fathers praised thee, is burned up with fire: and all our pleasant things are laid waste. Wilt thou refrain thyself for these things, O LORD? wilt thou hold thy peace, and afflict us very sore?”

The Battle of the Gate message has become a series, Thank God for Dr. Daniel Olukoya who sharpened that revelation by redefining 2010 as a gateway or gate-opening year.

The whistle has been blown and the race for 2010 has indeed begun. I have tried to define the concept of what I mean by the “GATE” in part one of THE BATTLE OF THE GATE on December 30th 2009 last year. In the Christmas-eve message on HOW TO SAY BYE-BYE TO 2009, we obtain a vivid picture from the Book of Exodus as the children of Israel, led by Moses, waved a damning bye-bye to Pharaoh and his army. Dr. Olukoya has led us back to Exodus to re-enact the drama at the court of Pharaoh in order to obtain and use ammunition to battle at the gate of this year and this decade. If I were you, I would go and camp around the book of Exodus. The keys to opening the gate of this year is somewhere located there.

The battle of the gate is not your battle, it is the Lord’s battle but He wants to use us as His battle axe. It is impossible to do battle at the gate if you are not walking in holiness. Purity is an uncompromising condition for winning the battle of the gate. The anchor scripture above says: “…He that hath clean hands, and a pure heart; who hath not lifted up his soul unto vanity, nor sworn deceitfully…” Blazing holiness is the ladder that ascends the holy hill of God. For me I revel in Isaiah 64:6: “But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away….“.
