Dr. Daniel K. Olukoya Reveals MFM’s Covenant of Deliverance

The MFM 20th Anniversary and 3rd International Convention has come but refuse to go because the ripples of power and waves of testimonies still flowing into news media, as this report By Sam Eyoboka, Culled From Vanguard Newspapers reveals.

TWENTY years after its establishment, the General Overseer of Mountain of Fire and Miracles, MFM, Dr. Daniel Kolawole Olukoya has revealed the “secret” behind the fire prayer pattern of the church, saying God has a covenant of deliverance with the church.

Dr. Olukoya, in his sermon at the thanksgiving service to round-off the just concluded 5-day celebrations marking the church’s third international convention cum the 20th anniversary/annual anointing programme last Sunday, said the covenant of deliverance God has with the MFM is the reason for the church’s around-the-clock deliverance prayers and activities.

He told a congregation which included the Lagos State Deputy Governor, Princess Sarah Sosan, the wife of the Lagos State governor, Mrs. Abimbola Fashola, wife of the Niger Delta Minister, Mrs. Beatrice Orubebe, the Vice Chancellor of the University of Lagos, Prof. Tolu Odugbemi, Mr. Tunde Williams, son of the slain PDP stalwart, Engr. Funso Williams, among others at the service held at the MFM Prayer City, that when the church started 20 years ago, some people criticised its prayers as too hot, weird, unpalatable, unfriendly, unheard of, etc.

“To the glory of God, all the people who criticised, condemned us then are now praying the same prayers and one of our prayer books, The Prayer Rain, has sold millions of copies and has blessed many around the world. I have seen Prayer Rain with Muslims and members of other denominations,” the MFM General Overseer said.

According to him, “the world is a deep place and the devil is wickedly wicked and badly bad,” warning that the children of God needed to gird their loins and reject the antics of the devil.

Speaking on the topic; “The Atmosphere of Miracles”, Olukoya stressed that the power of the Lord is present in the MFM to heal, adding that God has 14 covenants with His people, which they can key into.

Olukoya recommended three pre-requisites to enable one connect to the atmosphere of miracles thus: be a friend of God by getting genuinely born again; genuine repentance from every known sin and waging war against every enemy of one’s peace.

In welcoming participants to the week-long convention, tagged, “Making positive history,” on Wednesday, the cleric said the occasion was one with a difference as “God has packaged unprecedent-ed spiritual and physical blessings for all participants, challenging them to walk in the spirit, pray like never before, get power from the Lord to make positive history and retain the blessings of the convention.”

He charged the church members to “remember that this is the year of awesome testimonies and turn around breakthroughs. You will receive grace to make positive history. The power of God will touch your spirit, soul and body. There shall be total transformation, complete restoration and you shall experience the demonstration of the power of God which is able to save and deliver to the uttermost.”

At the ordination of new pastors and award of certificates to graduate students of the church’s Institute of Spiritual Warfare held on Saturday, Dr. Olukoya warned them to be mindful of the new responsibilities being entrusted to their care as pastors and ministers in God’s vineyard, stressing “you are not the first to get a certificate in pastoral ministry and not the first to be ordained pastor.”

According to him, as good as obtaining a certificate as a minister and being ordained a pastor are, “they are full of dangers and are not to be taken lightly. Many come in contact with the anointed hand of Jesus. Many would have gone to heaven if they had not been ordained,” the renowned man of God said.

He pointed out that some ministers and pastors are called by them-selves, not by God, some by men, some by the devil, some by some other men and still, some by God, asserting that very soon, it will be discovered who called them as the moment of truth will soon come.

“What is in you is what God looks. Be very careful, it is a good thing and it is a deadly thing too; it could be for your rising and could be for your falling too. These are dangerous days and many champions are falling,” Olukoya warned.

About 635 pastors were ordained by Olukoya, who, accompanied by his wife, Pastor Shade Olukoya. He also presented plaques to some 437 church members who distinguished themselves in the service of God.
